Dr Md Shamim Alam has used his years of expertise and knowledge to work on a range of publications and works of research to display his strength in the field. • Remunerated research undertaken for the Australian Immigration Department on the Evaluation of the e-Visa Usability, 2010.

International Pro-bono work
• Presented international seminar and advice on pension fund law provided to the Mankiganj Bar Association in Bangladesh (17 May 2014 – 26 May 2014), funded to $10,000 by the Australian Attorney General’s Department, supported and publicized by the Centre for Asia Pacific Pro-bono (CAPPB) at the Law Council of Australia:

• In 2014: Presentations on a research project conducted by the School of Law of the University of Canberra into pension funds and proposed private fund to senior Ministers, Departmental Secretaries, Academics at Dhaka University and the Vice Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University in Bangladesh.

• From 2009- 2012, undertaken wide range of comparative research for the Bangladeshi Cabinet Law Minister in establishing the War Crimes Tribunal in Bangladesh, responding to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court and the Guidelines of the European Human Rights Commission, subsequently appointed a member of the International War Crimes Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA)
